This equestrian memorial
stands at the end of the High Street in the town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders.
The horse statue as it has become known represents the victory of local youths or "callants" from the town over a party of English raiders at Hornshole. The skirmish took place in 1514 just outside Hawick and the memorial was unveiled in June 1914 to commemorate 400 years.Beautiful scenery and landscapes with panoramic views give this quaint village an idyllic feel
