Bamburgh Castle Summer framed ceramic tile has been created from an original painting by North East artist Emily Ward. All ceramic tiles are printed and hand pressed in Emily's art studio, where she hand finishes every tile.
The grand and imposing Bamburgh castle sits high on the hill overlooking the dark moody colours of the sea on Emily’s ceramic tile. Golden sands blend in with the warm earthy tones of the castle giving it a timeless appearance.
The sky is a soft blend of pastel hues transitioning from gentle blue at the top to a pinkish purple near the horizon. Light specks of paint enhance the the explosion of colourful flowers at the foreground of this painting by Emily Ward,

Bamburgh Castle stands proudly over the village of Bamburgh and is one of the many Northumberland castles in the North East. It has a vast history and has stood guard over the coast for over 1400 years.
Today, visitors can enjoy the gorgeous views of the Farne Islands and Holy Islands as well as the castle’s history. Bamburgh Castle is also recognised as England’s finest coastal fortress, as well as a Grade I listed building.
Visionary inventor, philanthropist and industrialist William George Armstrong purchased the castle in 1894. He began to transform it into his vision of the archetypal castle.
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
