Bamburgh Castle
Bamburgh Castle stands proudly over the village of Bamburgh and is one of the many Northumberland castles in the North East. It has a vast history and has stood guard over the coast for over 1400 years.
Today, visitors can enjoy the gorgeous views of the Farne Islands and Holy Island as well as the castle’s history. Bamburgh Castle
is also recognised as England’s finest coastal fortress, as well as a Grade I listed building.
Visionary inventor, philanthropist and industrialist William George Armstrong purchased the castle in 1894. He began to transform it into his vision of the archetypal castle.
