Bamburgh Castle Summer postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of North East art postcards. This postcard has been created from original art by Emily.
The landscape is rich with colour on Emily’s art postcard and features a lush green hill on which the majestic castle sits. The foreground is filled with deep purples, blues and greens creating a striking contrast against the lighter sky and sandy coastline.
The castle itself is painted in warm earthy tones, with shades of ochre and brown giving it a timeless, weathered appearance.

Bamburgh Castle stands proudly over the village of Bamburgh and is one of the many Northumberland castles in the North East. It has a vast history and has stood guard over the coast for over 1400 years.
Today, visitors can enjoy the gorgeous views of the Farne Islands and Holy Island as well as the castle’s history. Bamburgh Castle is also recognised as England’s finest coastal fortress, as well as a Grade I listed building.
Visionary inventor, philanthropist and industrialist William George Armstrong purchased the castle in 1894. He began to transform it into his vision of the archetypal castle.
