Bass Rock, Firth of Forth Greeting Card

Bass Rock, Firth of Forth greeting card is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art cards. This greeting card has been created from an original painting by Emily. All greeting cards are printed locally in Newcastle.

Emily's painting shows off the white glaze of Bass Rock standing proud in the Firth of Forth under a cloud filled sky.

The deep blue sea has a gentle purple haze rippling across it, giving a calming feel to this lovely art greeting card.

Dainty pink, white and blue flowers add a pop of colour to this painting of Bass Rock.

Bass Rock, Firth of Forth

Bass Rock is situated about 3 miles off the coast of North Berwick in the Firth of Forth. It is a huge carboniferous rock and rises 105 meters above sea level at its highest point.

The rock gets the white glaze from the thousands of garnets that nest there during the breeding season.

Bass Rock lighthouse was constructed in 1902 by David Alan Stevenson. His cousin Robert Louis Stevenson wrote about Bass Rock in his novel ‘Catriona’ in 1893
