Beverley Minster
Beverley Minster
was founded in the 8th century and stands proud in the town of Beverley in East Riding of Yorkshire. The minister is regarded as one of the finest Gothic churches in Europe.
Named after St John of Beverley due to the large numbers of pilgrims who visited his tomb in the church. John, Bishop of York, had founded a monastery on the site, he was later recognised as a saint.
