Brig o'Doon
Brig o'Doon is a single arched cobbled medieval bridge that crosses the River Doon in Alloway in Ayrshire. Built in the 14th century.
Brig is the Scottish word for bridge, Brig o'Doon is the bridge over the River Doon.
Robert Burns used this as his setting in the final verse of the famous Tom o'Shanter poem. This is the bridge that Tam o’ Shanter raced across on horseback, fleeing from the witches and warlocks .
