Canterbury Cathedral in Kent, is one of the oldest Christian structures in England with more than 1400 years worth of rich history.
Founded by St Augustine in 597AD, the cathedral became a major pilgrimage site after the murder of Thomas Beckett in 1170. Canterbury Cathedral is known as a masterpiece of architecture and art and is one of the UK's most visited historic sites. Some of the beautiful stained glass windows date back to the 12th century. Other notable points of interest are the site of Becketts murder and the crypt where Henry II did penance for the murder.
The cathedral forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site which includes the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey, where the early Anglo-Saxon kings of Kent were buried, and St Martin’s, the longest church in continuous use in England.
Open edition prints are signed and titled by the artist.
