Cullercoats the Wave - Framed Ceramic Tile

Cullercoats the Wave framed ceramic tile is a beautiful painting by local artist Emily Ward.

The power of the wave is shown by the sea spray on the pier, highlighted by the bright white colours. Emily’s use of dark tones contrasts with this, especially the black and purple colours in the sea.

As well as this, Emily has used oranges and reds to create a gorgeous sunset, dominant against the striking clouds.

About Cullercoats Pier

Historically, Cullercoats was used to export both salt and coal. The harbour and pier were both constructed in 1682 with a waggonway to bring coal. However, by 1710, Cullercoats pier had been severely damaged and the condition of the waggonway had deteriorated.

There are now two piers which enclose the crescent-shaped beach, and at high tide they divide the beach into North and South. The piers act as a shelter which makes the bay perfect for sunbathing, as well as pier-jumping, a popular activity in summer.

This framed ceramic tile of the Cullercoats waves would look perfect in any room of your home. To view this gorgeous Cullercoats framed ceramic tile and many more North East paintings, view HERE.

Ceramic Framed Tile

Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.

The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.

Frames are available in White and Black Frames.

Each frame is 27 x 27 x 5cm

Colours may vary as each tile is printed individually.
