Dark Hedges, Ballymoney postcard is by North East artist Emily Ward from her art portfolio of the Northern Ireland.
Sunlight peeps through the mature knarled beech trees on Emily's art postcard. You can really imagine walking along the narrow pathway through the eerie tunnel of trees.
The varied shading through the interlocking branches adds to the mystery of this magical avenue of trees. The rich greens of the leaves are peppered with a pop of colourful paint splashes.

The Dark Hedges are situated in County Antrim in Northern Ireland between the villages of Armoy and Stranocum, around a 20-minute drive from Portrush.
The beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. Landscaped to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their Georgian mansion, Gracehill House.
Two centuries later, the tunnel of trees remain a magnificent sight and have become one of the most photographed natural sights in Northern Ireland.
The trees form an atmospheric tunnel that has been used as a location in the popular television series Game of Thrones, which has resulted in the avenue becoming a popular tourist attraction.
