The Dark Hedges are situated in County Antrim in Northern Ireland between the villages of Armoy and Stranocum, around a 20-minute drive from Portrush.
This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. Landscaped to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their Georgian mansion, Gracehill House.
Two centuries later, the tunnel of trees remain a magnificent sight and has become one of the most photographed natural sights in Northern Ireland.
The trees form a mystical tunnel that has been used as a location in the popular television series Game of Thrones, which has resulted in the avenue becoming a popular tourist attraction.
