Dark Hedges, Ballymoney ceramic tile and easel is by Emily Ward, an artist from the North East. This art gift is produced locally in her studio near Newcastle.
Sunlight peeps through the canopy of the trees giving the leaves a warmimg glow, which look lovely with the glaze of the ceramic tile.
Emily's entwined beech trees look knarled and mysterious tempting you to imagine walking through this tunnel of trees made famous in Game of Thrones.

Dark Hedges, Ballymoney
The Dark Hedges
are beech trees, that were planted around 1775 on both sides of a long avenue near to Gracehill House. The imposing trees twist and entangle together creating an impressive mix of light and shadows.
The Dark Hedges is found in County Antrim in Northern Ireland between the villages of Armoy and Stranocum, around a 10-minute drive from Ballymoney.
Popular myths to where the Dark hedges get there name from include that of the ghost known as the Grey lady, who haunts the trees. She flits from one tree to another before disapearing at the last beech tree. The more realistic is that the huge trees block most of the light, which results in a dark tunnel that looks like a hedge.
Ceramic Tile With Easel
Each ceramic tile is made from an original painting by North East Artist Emily Ward.
Each tile comes with it’s own wooden easel so your tile is easy to display.
There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
Ceramic Tile including the wooden easel is 15cm high x 10cm wide.
