Durham Cathedral
Durham Castle and Cathedral World Heritage Site was inscribed by UNESCO in 1986, it was one of the first UK sites to be listed. It received the recognition for its Outstanding Universal Value. The site's architectural importance comes from the fact that Durham Cathedral
and Castle are among the greatest monuments of the Norman Conquest of Britain.
The Cathedral lies within the precinct of Durham Castle, first constructed in the late eleventh century under the orders of William the Conqueror.
The Castle and Cathedral have remained in use for almost 1000 years. The Cathedral as a religious building, educational centre, and place of pilgrimage. The Castle firstly as the home of the Prince-Bishops, and then as the home of Durham University, which was established in 1832 and is the third oldest university in England.

Each ceramic tile is made from an original painting by North East Artist Emily Ward.
Each tile comes with it’s own wooden easel so your tile is easy to display.
There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
Ceramic Tile including the wooden easel is 15cm high x 10cm wide.
