Elvet Bridge ceramic tile with easel has been beautifully painted by local North East Artist Emily Ward. Painted originally for a commission she has had this picture transferred onto a ceramic tile which is hand finished by Emily herself.
Emily has cast the reflection of four of this medieval bridge arches across the River Wear to allow you to mull over this beautiful painting. Durham cathedral is standing proud in the background hidden amongst the luscious green foliage on the riverside.
Pink haze in the sky and the speckles of white and yellow throughout the painting enhance the varying beiges of stonework.
