Fountains Abbey canvas print has been created from original artwork by local North East artist Emily Ward.
The monastic ruins stand proud behind a colourful field filled with pink, blue and yellow dainty flowers. A soft yellow hue glistens over the grassy meadow.
Emily has given these magnificent abbey ruins her characteristic splashes of colour.
Tones of lilac flicker through the sky which is speckled with splashes of yellow and pink paint.

Fountains Abbey lies along the valley of the River Skell about two miles west of Ripon in North Yorkshire. The Abbey is one Britain’s largest and best preserved monastic ruins. Founded in 1132 by thirteen Benedictine monks from St Mary’s Abbey in York who were looking for a simpler life. They later became Cistercian monks.
Fountains Abbey gets its name from the water springs in that existed in the area.
The National Trust bought the estate from West Riding County Council in 1983.
