Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. Located approximately 3 miles south-west of Ripon in North Yorkshire. The Abbey was founded in 1132 by thirteen Benedictine monks from St Mary’s Abbey in York.
The abbey was named Fountains Abbey because of the springs of water that existed in the area.
Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Park was one of the first places to be designated a NESCO World Heritage site in the UK in 1986.
Each ceramic tile is made from an original painting by North East Artist Emily Ward.
Each tile comes with it’s own wooden easel so your tile is easy to display.
There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
Ceramic Tile including the wooden easel is 15cm high x 10cm wide.
