Gisborough Priory is often regarded as being at the gateway to the North York Moors. Situated in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland, the medieval priory has a history going back 900 years.
Founded in 1119 by an ancestor of the Scottish king, Robert Bruce, it became one of the richest monastic foundations in the country. Most of the Romanesque Norman priory was destroyed in a fire in 1289. The priory was rebuilt in the Gothic style on a grander scale over the following century.
Today the remains are regarded as among the finest surviving examples of early Gothic architecture in England.
Signed, titled and Numbered by the artist and are limited to a print run of 195.
Each print comes with an antique white mount ready to slip into a standard sized 40x50cm frame.
