Hadrian's Wall Open Edition Print
Hadrian's Wall open edition print has been produced from an original painting by Emily Ward an artist from the North East. This lovely art print is also available framed.
Emily's characteristic splashes of colour rain down over the remains of the Roman watchtower and milecastle on this art print.
The ancient stones of Hadrian's wall seem to stretch right across the rich grassy rolling hills of Northumberland on Emily Ward's art. The craggy cliff side can be seen disappearing into to the small peaceful lake underneath the summer blues of the sky.

Vallum Hadriani is Latin for Hadrian’s Wall which is also known as the Roman Wall. It was built under the instruction of Emperor Hadrian in AD 122.
The stone wall took 15,000 men, six years to build. The Roman Wall was built with large ditches either side and crossed the width of the country. Soldiers were garrisoned along the wall in large forts along the way. The remains of the wall are the most important and substantial of Roman remains in Britain.
Hadrian’s Wall was a rich and vibrant place. It was a border where soldiers and civilians from across Europe and North Africa met, traded and served together at the north-western frontier of the Roman Empire.
Walltown Crags lies between Birdoswald Roman Fort and Housesteads Fort and is one of the best spots to take in the most spectacular part of Hadrian’s Wall and the dramatic scenery.
