Ilkley Moor original painting by North East artist Emily Ward is a new commission from her Yorkshire and Humberside range of art prints and gifts.
Emily's painting is of the impressive Cow and Calf Rocks on the scenic Ilkley Moor. The bright summer blues of the sky shine bright over these rock formations.
Purple heather grows wildly adding that touch of wilderness to this painting.

Ilkley Moor is the moorland between Keighley and Ilkley in West Yorkshire.
The Cow and Calf Stones are situated above Ilkley Quarry and are often referred to as the Hangingstone Rocks. Named Cow and Calf Stones due to the fact that there is one large boulder whilst the smaller ones sit close to it.
Legend says that there the cow was split from the calf when the giant Rombald fled from an enemy and stamped on the rock as he jumped across the valley. It is said that the enemy was his angry wife.
