Lees Trees Bone China Cup has been taken from an original painting by Newcastle artist Emily Ward.
Emily has used vibrant shades of green and faint purples to add a splash of colour to the leaves on these tall trees. The sun can be seen streaming through the forest.

The term Woodland is usually considered to be land covered with trees and vegetation.
In the UK woods tend to not be as large as forests. Woodlands are usually made up of the crowns, or tops, of trees. An open canopy allows full sunlight to enter the woodland, limiting shade and moisture
