Marsden Rock framed ceramic tile is a beautiful painting by local North East artist Emily Ward.
The use of white paint splatters represents the sea spray of the waves hitting the rock. Emily has created an uplifting, idyllic scene with vivid blue and purple shades of both the sky and sea. This contrasts with the beige stone-like colours of the centrepiece.
About Marsden Rock
Located in Marsden, South Shields, Marsden Rock is a rock formation. It is owned by the National Trust and overlooked by the Marsden Grotto. Made of limestone, the rock is 100 yards from the main cliff face. It is reachable during low tide on foot but is completely surrounded by water at high tide.
Limestone cliff formations and rock arches like Marsden Rock dominate a lot of the South Tyneside coastline. To view this gorgeous framed ceramic tile and many more North East art by Emily Ward, view HERE.
Ceramic Framed Tile
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.
Frames are available in White and Black Frames.
Each frame is 27 x 27 x 5cm
Colours may vary as each tile is printed individually.
