Maryport postcard has been beautifully created by North East artist Emily Ward.
Sea spray from the Solway Firth splashes over the old cast iron lighthouse that stands proud on the pier at Maryport. Hints of purple can be seen shimmering through the dark blues of the sky.
The small mountains and lowlands on the far side of the estuary can be faintly seen on adding a bit of mystery to this local landmark.
Emily has also recreated her Maryport painting into a unique gift range which can be found here.
Maryport
Maryport Lighthouse is a small lighthouse located in the town of Maryport on the Solway Firth in Cumbria. The lighthouse stands proudly adjacent to the Marina.
The original Maryport lighthouse was built in 1796, with the current structure dating from 1846. The old lighthouse is no longer operational and was restored in 2017.
The painter L. S. Lowry used Maryport and the lighthouse in several of his paintings.
