Newcastle Cathedral , formerly known as the Cathedral Church of St Nicholas was originally built in 1091 as a Norman church. Destroyed by fire over a hundred years later, the current building was completed in 1350.
Today’s cathedral is mostly in the Perpendicular style of the 14th century. The 15th century tower dominates the city’s skyline and is one of the finest lantern towers in the country.
The church received cathedral status in 1882 and was granted a Grade I listing in 1954.
Each Canvas Print is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your canvas is actually a print no two prints are identical. Emily hand finishes the canvas prints by adding extra paint to the print.
