Newcastle Cathedral

Newcastle Cathedral has 900 years worth of history. The cathedral is named after Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors and boats. This probably was due to its location on the River Tyne. It was also built close to the line of Hadrian’s Wall that runs through Newcastle.
