Pembroke Castle is a medieval castle in Pembrokeshire in Wales. The castle has over 900 years worth of history. Originally built in timber in 1093 by the Earl Roger of Montgomery as a defense against a Norman attack. It was rebuilt in stone in the 12th century and also undertook major restoration work in Victorian times.
The castle is idyllically set on a rocky promontory, overlooking Milford Haven and the River Cleddau.
The castle has played a major part in Britain’s history and was the birthplace of Henry VII.
The castle has endless tunnels, stairways and passages to explore. From the top of the 80ft Keep beautiful views across Pembrokeshire can be seen.
