Penshaw Monument at Sunset Bone China Cup
Penshaw Monument at Sunset Bone China Cup
Penshaw Monument at Sunset Bone China Cup has been created by local North East artist Emily Ward.
Emily has captured a warm orange sunset which lights up this landmark monument. Shades of orange, red and pinks provide a striking background for the temple to stand proudly amongst. Soft flowers and splashes of colour also add to the importance of the Monument.

About Penshaw Monument
Also known as the Earl of Durham’s Monument, Penshaw Monument is a replica of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens. Considered as Wearside’s most beloved landmark, it is a 70 foot high temple and can be seen for miles around. It also appears on the badge of Sunderland Football Club.
Built in 1844, the Monument is now a Grade I listed building and is still a popular attraction to both locals and tourists.
