Perth Bridge, River Tay
The nine arched Perth Bridge on the River Tay connects Perth
and Bridgend. The bridge was built by engineer John Smeaton and the foundation stone was laid in 1766.
Perth Bridge was widened in the mid nineteenth century to allow for the increasing traffic.
The iconic landmark church of St Mathew's is on the River Tay near the bridge.
