This Ripon Cathedral coaster by Emily Ward, an artist from Newcastle, has been hand pressed onto a FSC rated hardbacked coaster locally in her studio. The coaster has been produced from original art by Emily of the impressive cathedral in North Yorkshire.
The imposing early English Gothic cathedral has a beautiful array of colourful wildflowers which are speckled with splashes of paint that entice you to walk towards it.
A warming sky full of blues, purples and hints of pink radiates a rich glow over the medieval stonework.

Ripon Cathedral dominates the view of Ripon in North Yorkshire. The third smallest city in the country is steeped in history. There has been a stone built church on the site of the cathedral for over 1400 years.
The site was originally founded as a monastery around 660s, the present day church was built between the 13th and 16th centuries.
It is thought that Lewis Carroll was inspired to write 'The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland' after seeing all the unusual treasures of art and design housed in the cathedral.
