Ripon in North Yorkshire boasts a large wealth of cultural heritage which includes the impressive seventh century Gothic Cathedral. The small city has quaint medieval streets and a Georgian market place.
Ripon Cathedral
has a history stretching back almost fourteen centuries. The church was one of the earliest stone buildings to be built in the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Northumbria.
The present church was founded by Saint Wilfrid and dedicated in 672, although it has been rebuilt several times since. The ancient Saxon crypt is one of the oldest in the country, it is the only part of Wilfrid’s original church that remains to this day.
Signed, titled and Numbered by the artist and are limited to a print run of 195.
