Seaham Lighthouse
The 10 meter tall black and white lighthouse is situated at the end of the north pier in Seaham harbour
in County Durham. The lighthouse replaced the Red Acre Point lighthouse in 1905.
Lighthouses are painted differently to help mariners identify them during the day, a lighthouse may be painted all white if its surroundings are dark and a lighthouse may have red stripes if it is next to white cliffs and rocks.
