The Shambles ceramic tile with easel is from North East artist Emily Ward's Yorkshire and Humberside art gift range. This ceramic tile is hand pressed in Emily's art studio near Newcastle.
You can imagine meandering along this narrow cobbled street in Emily's artwork of the Shambles. A soft purple sky adds an air of mystery to this medieval street filled with many vibrant shop fronts.
Emily's characteristic splashes of paint add a pop of colour to this art ceramic tile.

The Shambles
, officially known as just ‘Shambles’ is a narrow street of mostly timber buildings dating back as far as the 13th Century. Originally home to mainly butchers, each shop specialised in a different meat, the narrow design was intended to keep direct sunlight off all the meat.
While the street is still home to a butcher, the rest of the street is now filled with a bright mix of mostly independent retailers.
A shrine to Saint Margaret Clitherow, who was married to a grocery store owner and lived in one, can be found among the Shambles’ structures.
Each ceramic tile is made from an original painting by North East Artist Emily Ward.
Each tile comes with it’s own wooden easel so your tile is easy to display.
There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
Ceramic Tile including the wooden easel is 15cm high x 10cm wide.
