The Shambles framed ceramic tile is by Emily Ward from her Yorkshire art and gift range. The ceramic tile is printed and hand pressed in Emily's art studio in North Tyneside. Each tile is individually hand finished by Emily with a splash of colour.
Subtle pink tones glow across the medieval overhanging buildings creating a warming tone in Emily's art. The evening sky is filled with a soft purple haze which also casts a reflection over the narrow cobbled street.
Emily's colourful hanging baskets add a quirky touch to this lovely framed ceramic tile of this famous street in York.

The term “The Shambles” is sometimes used to describe York’s historic maze of twisting, little streets. The Shambles is one of the best preserved medieval streets and is lined with timber buildings. The street was also mentioned in William the Conqueror’s Doomsday Book in 1086.
The narrow winding street dates back as far as the 13th century, it is possible in certain parts to touch both sides of the street with outstretched arms.
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.
Frames are available in White and Black Frames.
Each frame is 27 x 27 x 5cm
Colours may vary as each tile is printed individually.
