The Shambles in York Bone China Cup has been created from original artwork by local North East artist Emily Ward. This art cup is hand pressed in Emily's art studio.
Emily has created a garland of greenery that bursts with colour along this ancient medieval street.
Shades of pink reflect off the timber buildings from the evening sky which shimmers with purple tones. Colourful door fronts add character to this quirky art bone china cup.

The term “The Shambles” is sometimes used to describe York’s historic maze of twisting, little streets. The Shambles is one of the best preserved medieval streets lined with timber buildings. The street was also mentioned in William the Conqueror’s Doomsday Book in 1086.
The narrow winding street dates back as far as the 13th century, it is possible in certain parts to touch both sides of the street with outstretched arms.
