Treasurer's House Coaster
Treasurer's House Coaster
Treasurer's House coaster is by Newcastle based artist Emily Ward. This FSC rated hardback coaster can be purchased as part of a gift set , with four coasters of your choice. All coasters are printed and hand pressed in Emily's studio in the North East.
Emily has given a splash of colour to the elegant historic house which is nestled behind York Minster.
A golden sun can be seen setting behind the Grade 1 listed building. Vibrant oranges, reds and yellow sunlight reflect off Treasurer's House giving the stonework a hint of pink.
Pretty blue, purple and white flowers grow in abundance in the well maintained gardens.

Treasurer's House
Treasurer's House
is a listed Grade 1 centuries-old town house. It was built in the shadow of York Minster, originally it was home to the cathedral’s treasurer.
The oldest remains of Treasurer's House that is still in existence today is an external wall believed to date to the 12th century. It now forms part of the boutique Gray’s Court Hotel.
A new building was functioning as the Treasurers House by 1419. Treasurer's House was built directly over one of the main Roman roads which led out of Roman York towards the North. During major structural changes, carried out by Frank Green, four Roman column bases were uncovered, one of which remains in-situ in the cellar.
