Twyford Viaduct
Twyford
lies in the parish of Twyford and Thorpe, in the district of Melton Mowbray in county of Leicestershire. The name was derived from the two fords that were in the village.
The railway line opened in 1879, with the aim to transport coal and passengers between Northampton and Nottinghamshire. Twyford Viaduct was built in 1879 and had 14 impressive arches that span a height of 60 feet.
