Tynemouth Pier framed ceramic tile - Jane has been transferred onto a ceramic tile from an original painting by local North East artist Emily Ward. Dramatic waves crashing against the pier are captured with Emily’s white paint splatters, demonstrating how powerful they are.
Shades of grey add mystery to the painting, in both the gloomy sky and the railings of the pier. Beige, stone-like colours capture both the lighthouse and the wall, almost soaked by the waves.
About Tynemouth Pier
Extending 900 metres out to sea, Tynemouth Pier is a grade II listed building and goes all the way back to Victorian times. Tynemouth Priory can be seen from the end of the pier, standing proud on the hill.
The straight line pier was completed in 1910, after plans for a curved pier fell through due to storms and heavy sea damage.

Ceramic Framed Tile
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.
Frames are available in White and Black Frames.
Each frame is 27 x 27 x 5cm
Colours may vary as each tile is printed individually.
