Urquhart Castle
Urquhart Castle
is situated on a rocky promontory on the banks of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands just south of Inverness.
The castle is steeped in history and it is said that a castle has been on this site since the 13thcentury .
St Columba worked his miracles here in the 6th century, with his acts of defiance during the Wars of Independence. The Great Tower is the most preserved part of Urquhart Castle.
