Warkworth Castle Summer greeting card is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of North East art cards. This greeting card has been created from an original painting by Emily.
Emily has painted the powerful castle ruins in shades of soft grey, purple and brown, standing proud on a lush green hill.
The sky is a brilliant soft blue, with subtle variations in tone. Tiny specks of paint are scattered across the sky and grassy mound. The castle feels grand and is surrounded by a landscape that feels full of life and movement on this art blank greeting card.
A colourful meadow of tall flowers invites you towards the historic Warkworth Castle.

Warkworth Castle is an impressive ruined castle in the rugged and scenic county of Northumberland. The castle stands on the top of the hillside overlooking the River Croquet and the village of Warkworth.
The castle is said to have been built around 1200 and was the main home of the Percy family during the 14th to 17th centuries.
The castle was built around a motte, an artificial mound, and a bailey, a fortified enclosure. The castle’s great tower was added in the late 14th century. The castle was abandoned and stripped of reusable materials in the 17th century.
In 1915 the castle was declared a scheduled ancient monument and is managed by English Heritage.
