West Bay, Dorset postcard is by North East artist Emily Ward from her art portfolio of the South West.
The majestic sandstone cliffs shimmer with oranges and reds from the glow of sunlight. Tucked away on the grassy hillside in Emily's art postcard is a quaint little bothy giving the impression of a remote and secluded bay.
A light scattering of sea spray from the gently waves rolls towards the golden sands of East Beach . The Jurassic cliff reflects over the beautiful coastline of West Bay.

West Bay
in Dorset is known as the Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast. The Jurassic Coast is England’s only natural World Heritage Site, inscribed on the World heritage List in December 2001. It is the only place where rocks from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods covering 185 million years of the Earth’s history can be seen.
The Jurassic Coast runs for 95 miles from Dorset to East Devon.
West Bay is just south of Birdport and is a fine shingle beach. The dramatic cliffs provide a stunning backdrop to this beautiful bay.
