White Horse, Kilburn
The White Horse at Kilburn
is located at Sutton Bank in the North York Moors National Park near Kilburn. It is 314ft long and 228ft high and is said that 20 people could stand on the grass island which forms the eye.
The Kilburn White Horse is actually cut into limestone which used to need to be artificial whitened, unlike the white horses in the south of England which have been cut into chalk. Chalk chippings from the Yorkshire Wolds are now however used to enhance the whiteness of the horse.

The canvas is mounted on a wooden frame. The wooden frame is approximately 2cm deep so will fit snugly against any wall.
