White Horse, Kilburn
The White Horse at Kilburn
is situated on Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire, on the edge of the magnificent North York Moors National Park
The iconic White Horse has been overlooking the town of Kilburn since around the late 1850's. it can be seen for many miles and covers half an acre.
Thomas Taylor a local to Kilburn designed and financed the cutting of the horse on the hillside in 1857. The work was carried out by the village schoolmaster, John Hodgson with 20 helpers.
