Kilburn White Horse is one of the most famous landmarks in North Yorkshire and the most northerly turf-cut figure in Britain. It is visible for miles and is situated at Sutton Bank in the North York Moors National Park.
The horse dates from 1857 and was designed and financed by a local named Thomas Taylor. The outline of the horse was marked out by the Kilburn village schoolmaster and his pupils.
