York Minster is the 2nd largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe. The full and correct name of the minster is 'Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of St Peter in York'.
This Gothic style church was designed and intended to be the greatest cathedral in the kingdom. It took over 250 years to build between 1220 and 1472.
