York Minster is one of the worlds largest Medieval Gothic Cathedrals. It attracts over 2 million visitors a year.
Executed in 1405-08, the East Window is the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in Britain. There are over 300 glazed panels, and was a very ambitious project for the Middle Ages. Walter Skirlaw the Bishop of Durham (c.1330-1406), has been recognised as the donor of the Great East window.
